Pharmacy Practice Resources
Introduction
This series of "Pharmacy Practice Resources" is presented by NAPRA to assist practitioners in complying with the Model Standards of Practice for Canadian Pharmacists.
Each chapter identifies a collection of currently available or developing tools and resources, and in some cases outlines pharmacists' success with their use. Other components include forms and articles where available, and references for further reading.
Pharmacists are encouraged to review each chapter and to select from among available tools and resources to use whatever works for them. A bibliography and resource list is included with each.
Many of the practitioners contacted for information were happy to share the tools they had developed, but stressed that tools are only useful once a pharmacist has made a commitment to raising his/her standards of practice. In many cases, this means a commitment to the provision of pharmaceutical care. A number of the pharmacists consulted also reported that significant changes had been made to their practices over time, implementing ideas in incremental steps.
NAPRA's National Advisory Committee on Pharmacy Practice oversees this series, and would love to hear your comments, and any resources, tools or ideas you have found helpful in your own practice. Your comments and suggestions are welcome at info@napra.ca.
